Pool Table Installation
Assembly, shimming and cloth, for a table that is staying where it is.
Some tables are already in the room and still not tables: dropped off in sections, dragged out of somebody's cellar, or left half-built by whoever started and lost interest. This visit finishes them.
Frame up and squared, bed bolted down, seams filled and worked flat, cloth stretched and fitted, level set. Most of the hours go on shims, because a floor that has been carrying load for well over a century has found a shape of its own and the slate has not moved at all.
What installation includes
Here is the order it happens in.
- Legs and frame up first, squared, and stood so there is cue room on every side.
- Bed sections bolted down and the seams filled, then worked flat until a ball runs over them in silence.
- Cloth stretched across the slate, fitted round the rails, pockets back in.
- Rails bolted on last, with the rubber looked at while it is off anyway.
- Level read at the seams and at each pocket, then read again once the cloth is on.
Second-hand tables turn up missing bolts, pocket irons and shims more often than not. Mention it and the crew carries spares.
What finished looks like
Boston Pool Table Movers and Stripes And Solids guarantee all of our work. If you use our services and feel that something was done incorrectly, or that your table is becoming unlevel, we will come back out and fix the issue. That is good for 90 days after your service is completed.
Our normal appointment times are 8 to 9 am and 12 to 1 pm, Monday to Friday. Please feel free to call between 8 am and 5 pm, or leave a voicemail any time of day. There is an additional cost of $30 if we need to carry the table up stairs on an installation. On a home to home move we do not charge extra for stairs on a three piece slate table, and we will not move one piece slate tables.
